What is ATTUD?

ATTUD is the Association for the Treatment of Tobacco Use and Dependence. Kelly, Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist and owner of Alpha Lifestyle Center, is a new member of this organization. ATTUD is “dedicated to the promotion of and increased access to evidence-based tobacco treatment for the tobacco user.” Kelly has also applied with ATTUD to become a listed Treatment Provider in the state of Michigan, among only 3 others.

The role of a Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist was outlined in a previous post, https://www.alphalaserinfo.com/certified-tobacco-treatment-specialist.  It is important to note that our program is not considered an “evidence-based” treatment in traditional medical terms. Laser therapy is alternative, not medical. Evidence-based methods (medically) include FDA approved medications such as Chantix and Nicotine Replacement Therapies. However, we still strive to develop and offer the most comprehensive program available to help you kick the habit.

That is plenty of evidence to support the efficacy of the program at Alpha Lifestyle Center; we just don’t want to confuse the medical terms or mislead our readers/customers. Stay tuned for an update from our third-party survey results at Alpha Lifestyle Center, which report what our customers have to say about us!

Kelly uses her certification responsibly to support her customers. She is always seeking new ways to evolve as a professional who works with nicotine-addicted individuals. Her certifications, memberships and upcoming attendance at the 24h Annual Nicotine Dependence Conference are more evidence of this commitment. We challenge you to find a doctor or pharmacist who is as qualified or committed to helping you quit smoking!

Kelly understands that Alpha Lifestyle Center is not a medically accepted approach to nicotine addiction, but she would like physicians and pharmacists to understand that she is uniquely trained to help tobacco-addicted individuals who seek out our support.

We built a reputation as a laser program for nicotine addiction. While this is still an accurate description, the program has evolved considerably over the last decade. Under Kelly’s management,  the program now includes a number of other strategies, including scientifically supported strategies.
