Stephen King Quitting Smoking
A client at Alpha Lifestyle Center asked if I had ever heard of Stephen King’s Quitters Inc. I had not. So I did some research and also listened to the 45- minute story that I found on online. I enjoyed the story and I thought it brought some quit-related entertainment value to a very serious and significant event in the lives of people working to kick the habit.
I next polled a sample of our clients to get some feedback about my idea for recommending Quitter’s Inc. to our customers. The feedback was unanimous; everyone agreed it was a great recommendation. (Click here to listen now).
Now when a customer calls to schedule an appointment, I often recommend Quitter’s Inc. as some light homework before their quit smoking (or dipping, chewing, vaping) appointment. The information for Quitter’s Inc. is also included with the take-home information.
We know it is important to prepare to quit smoking and that the amount of time committed to preparing is a strong predictor of success. What better way to prepare for quitting than to settle in to a Stephen King thriller? If you have a creative imagination, this could be a valuable exercise. So pop in your earbuds or gather friends and family. Enjoy!
