What Would You Miss If You Didn’t Smoke?

What would you miss

Seriously…….take a few minutes to think about it. What would you really miss?

You might think about your smoke break at work and the great conversations you share with colleagues every day while smoking. That’s fair. But does quitting smoking really have to change that? No.

You might think about stepping outside at night for a cigarette after the kitchen is cleaned up and the kids go down for bed for a quick escape. Is there a reason you cannot do that without smoking? No.

Maybe you are thinking about the cigar on the golf course or around the poker table with your buddies. Kicking the habit doesn’t mean you cannot golf or play cards, does it? No.

What would you miss if you didn’t smoke?

You might miss the excessive cost of buying tobacco products. You might miss the judgment from others or standing out in the cold. Will you miss your spouse or children nagging you? Will you miss the odor on your body, clothes and in your car and home?

Would you miss how smoking makes you feel about yourself?

Here is a challenge: Make a list of the things you would miss if you didn’t smoke. Then, circle back through the list and re-think if quitting smoking really even affects it. Then, make another list of things that you will enjoy about quitting smoking. How do your lists compare?
